Miguel Valcárcel

Miguel Valcárcel has been Full Professor of Analytical Chemistry at the University of Córdoba since 1976 being his master research lines Analytical Nanoscience and Nanotecnology and automatization/miniaturization/quality of (bio)chemical measurement processes. He is the author and co-author of more than 900 articles indexed in international databases (Hirsch index: 50), nine monographs, ten textbooks and twenty chapters of multi-authors books. He has been the coordinator of 25 Spanish scientific research projects and 14 of international nature, and of 12 contracts with private firms, and has promoted a spin-off devoted to nanotechnology. Professor Valcárcel has been supervisor/co-supervisor of 75 doctoral theses and invited lecturer at 80 international meetings. He is the recipient of scientific national awards (e.g. Solvay Price, National Award in Chemistry in Spain, 2005) and international awards (e.g. Enrich Planquette Award of the Austrian Society of Chemistry 1996, Robert Boyle Medal of the RSC, 2004, DAC-EuCheMS Award 2015) prizes as well as Doctor Honoris Causa by the University of Valencia (2011 Spain) and full member of the Spanish Royal Academy of Sciences.
